The world as we know it is in major recession, it makes no difference what part of the world you are from, the world financial crisis is never too far away. The term superpower is something that has been branded around for years. In recent times, China and India have come forward as merging economies but is there any truth in the rumours that these countries will one day be more dominant than the United States?

The problem with this statement is that it doesn’t really cover all the areas that are considered. China and India are now starting to build their economies so that they can be taken seriously in the world market but because both these countries have rising poverty in certain areas, the figures that are produced are somewhat flawed. Nobody can argue that both these nations have not come a long way, but until they stop receiving aid from the west, the fact that the economy in these countries is booming will be short lived.

Many people today think that it is all over in the west. Well, in some respects this is true as the west is no longer dominant like it was 20 years ago, but the one thing that can not be over looked is that western countries like the USA, still have the respect of the globe as a whole. Many countries may not like this fact but it is no secret that the world wants to trade with the States. If we only look at the music industry this shows that the States holds all the cards.

A musical artist from the States can pretty much guarantee success around the world, but if another nation tries to export their music Stateside, they often find that failure is never far away. Let’s see what the next 10 years brings.
